Online videos are estimated to make up more than 82% of all consumer internet traffic by 2022, which is 15 times higher than the traffic in 2017. As more and more people are connected to the internet and social media through their handheld devices, the role of videos in entertainment and marketing efforts is just getting bigger.

These technologies will have an impact on streaming through all stages of production—from content creation, processing, post-production, through consumption. AI can perform mundane, repetitive tasks in a fraction of the time and using minimum human resource than would otherwise be required.
Many companies have already started making headway in this space, such as Google Cloud Video Intelligence, Conviva’s Video AI Architecture, Nvidia DLA, and IBM’s Watson technology. All of these technologies currently deploy AI in varying degrees—especially in the cloud.
